We're starting the Super Nintendo classic Final Fantasy VI this week on the IG stream. This is many people's favorite Final Fantasy, their first Final Fantasy; maybe you played it as Final Fantasy III here in the US?
I can't tell you much about it because this is my first time playing it! But I know it has a twist that blew people's minds when it originally released, and many folks still find it incredibly impactful today. (Unfortunately, that twist has been spoiled for me, lol, but I'll spare you)
That said, this game's been one of my most requested playthroughs for years. Terra, who fights alongside others to repel a dictatorship, is a woman who has captivated players...just like the game's antagonist, the evil Kefka. It's a tale of loss, love, and redemption...which I know doesn't say a whole lot, but I'm trying to avoid spoilers so I'm not reading more about it. :D
This week, you can catch streams today, tomorrow, and Thursday starting at 9a Pacific/12p EST/5p BST on the Intelligame Twitch. If you can't catch the stream live, you can watch them on YouTube on the Intelligame VOD channel a couple days after the stream. We'll play through this game and discuss its themes, writing, and more...just like we do all our games for Intelligame.
I know there's going to be some amazing discussion, great laughs, and emotional moments on this next journey. Hope to see you there.
